Campground Policies, Rules, Terms and Conditions

GENERAL INFORMATION
  • Check in time is 2 pm and checkout time is 11 am.
  • The SPEED LIMIT throughout the ENTIRE park is five (5) mph!
  • QUIET TIME: 10:30 pm to 8:00 am.
  • Children under 18 are to return to their campsite by 10:00 pm.
  • NO SITE SET UP AFTER 9:00 pm without prior approval.
  • All fires must be in fire ring and never left unattended!
  • OUT OF STATE WOOD IS NOT PERMITTED per Maine Law. Wood is sold at the office.
  • No generators.
  • All outdoor games are prohibited after 9:00 pm.
  • Walking and biking through other campsites is prohibited. Please only use designated paths and roadways.
  • Pets are allowed at the campground in most cases, see pet section below.
  • Fireworks are not permitted within the City of Sanford by law.
  • Firearms, weapons, illegal substances are not permitted on campground property.
  • Smoking is not allowed in any campground building, inside pool area, or playground.
  • Please keep your site clean and bring all trash to the dumpsters at the front of the park.
  • Recyclable beverage containers can be left at labeled receptacles between the dumpsters as well. We ask that garbage or food not be left in our fire rings.
  • Please respect the privacy of our neighbors. You are welcome to enjoy the grounds within our property, but do not go beyond marked boundary lines.
  • Our season runs from May 15th to September 15th.

CANCELLATIONS AND REFUNDS

Cancellations 4 days or more prior to arrival will receive a full refund less a $25.00 booking fee. Within 3 days of arrival no refunds are given for cancellations.  

No Refunds are given for – No Calls / No Shows*, Late Arrivals, Ejected Campers, No refunds due to discomforts of nature, weather, illness, work schedules, early departures or other events beyond the campground’s control. 

*No Shows/No Calls Policy – If the occupant does not arrive or call the park on the first night of the scheduled reservation, the campsite will be held for that night. If the occupant has not arrived at the park or cancelled the reservation by 12:00 p.m. EST on the second day, the campsite will be put back in the inventory and sold. There will be no refunds authorized for NO SHOW/NO CALL reservations.

ARRIVAL, CHECK-IN AND CHECK-OUT

Check-In Time is 2 pm to 7 pm. If arriving outside of check-in times, please call to make arrangements for a late check-in. Please stop at the office to complete your registration. There is no additional parking available for trailers or cars prior to 2 pm. Please plan accordingly. Reservations are non-transferable. Must present ID and provide year, model, license plate number and state of the vehicles you are driving at check-in. 

CHECK-OUT is at 11 am.  We ask that you keep your site clean and leave it as you found it. The registered party is responsible for any damage incurred to the property. If you are considering extending your stay please check with the office the night before for availability.

VISITORS – Upon entering the campground all visitors must register and pay a fee BEFORE going to ANY site. Any vehicle found on campground property without a pass or without having checked in at the office will be a violation of the rules and will be asked to leave. All day visitors must be off the grounds by 9:00 pm. Overnight visitors must be off the grounds by 10:00 am the following day or register at the office and pay a fee for that day. All visitors’ vehicles are to be parked at the front of the campground. Visitors are not allowed to bring pets. Visitors are the responsibility of guest campers. No overnight guests for popup or tent campers. 

CAMPSITES
  • RV sites have 30 amp power, water, sewer, and many are pull through.
  • Popup/tent sites have 15 amp power and water (7 night maximum).
  • One (1) RV, tent, family per site . Extra person fees apply.
  • We ask only one vehicle be parked per site. Additional parking is available at the front of the campground.

 

POWER – RV Sites have 30 AMPS and tent sites have 15 Amps. Overdraw will trip breakers. Please notify the office should your site lose power. 

CAMPFIRES – Campfires must be in the supplied fire ring, fires no higher than knee high and attended at all times. Burning trash is a violation of Maine State Law. PLEASE DO NOT BURN YOUR TRASH OR PUT IT IN THE CAMPFIRE RINGS! Completely extinguish completely before leaving or going to bed. We ask that you put your fire out no later than 12:00 am. Per Maine Law NO OUT OF STATE WOOD PERMITTED. Firewood is sold at the Campground Office. Do not cut, break or damage any tree or shrubbery dead or alive. 

WATER – Maine Law prohibits gray water dumping on the ground. Gray water and portable toilets must be emptied at the dump station no exceptions. Please turn off faucets when not in use and report any leaks to the office. Guests are not permitted to wash camping units or any other vehicles at their site.  

FACILITIES

QUIET HOURS – Will be observed 10:30pm – 8am. Anyone that does not comply with this rule will be asked to leave. Please no radios or TVs on outside during quiet hours. Please be respectful of others trying to relax or sleep.

CHILDREN – Your children are your responsibility, please keep an eye on them. No one under the age of 21 is allowed to camp or be left without adult supervision. Children under 18 must be on a site and under adult supervision after 10 pm. For safety purposes please do not allow your children to play in the bathhouse or laundry room at any time. NO “POWER WHEELS” or powered recreation vehicles allowed. 

ALCOHOL – Maine State law prohibits anyone under the age of 21 to possess or consume alcoholic beverages or anyone to furnish alcoholic beverages to anyone under the age of 21. Consumption by a minor will lead to ejection with NO REFUND. We ask that open liquor not be taken off site unless concealed by foam insulator or in plastic cup. No glass is to be taken off your site! No Kegs allowed. Anyone consuming alcohol must conduct themselves in an appropriate manner. Inappropriate behavior may be cause for ejection without refund. 

CONDUCT – Disorderly conduct, disorderly intoxication, underage drinking, loud and/or disruptive behavior and/or disregard for rules is not permitted and may result in ejection without refund.

PROFANITY- Explicit behavior or inappropriate language by children or adults will not be tolerated. This will result in expulsion without refund. This is a family campground and rowdy and inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated. The police or sheriff’s department will be called to escort uncooperative campers if needed.

FIREWORKS & WEAPONS – FIREWORKS, FIREARMS, OTHER WEAPONS, AND ILLEGAL SUBSTANCES ARE PROHIBITED ON CAMPGROUND PROPERTY. Anyone using any of these items will be asked to leave without refund. No exceptions. Drones are NOT allowed unless approved by management.

SMOKING/VAPING – For the comfort of all our guests, we do not permit smoking of any kind inside the pool area, playground, bathhouse, laundry room, or any campground buildings. Please discard cigarette butts in one of the many receptacles around the campground for safety and to keep the park neat.

VEHICLES – The speed limit in the campground is 5 MPH. Only 1 vehicle per site, any additional vehicles must be parked in the designated parking area up front. Parking on adjacent sites is not allowed. Please watch for children, pets and people walking, always. There will be no refund given for guests asked to leave for unsafe driving. No ATV’s, golf carts or other motorized vehicles of any kind, are allowed on campground roads or in your site.

TRAILERS/BOATS – Boats and hauling trailers are not allowed to be kept at your campsite; storage area is available please check with the office.

MOTORCYCLES/MOPEDS/ATVs – MINI BIKES/DIRT BIKES/ATVs ARE NOT PERMITTED at the campground. Street bikes, mopeds are allowed ONLY when entering and exiting the campground. When not in use, all motorized vehicles must be parked on their own site, off the road and not on vegetation. No motorized or battery operated children’s toys allowed on the grounds. The campground management reserves the right to deny use of any vehicle it deems to be unsafe, excessively noisy, or bothersome to other campers. No generator use allowed.

BICYCLES – Bike riding within the campground is a privilege that can be revoked. State of Maine Law requires that children under the age of 16 years old age must wear a helmet. Bicycles will not be ridden after dark, or on foot paths, or around buildings. Please ride at a reasonable speed (5mph or less) and follow traffic rules. We want to keep all children safe, so please make sure your children obey these rules. Violations will be subject to loss of privileges. USE OF SKATEBOARDS, LONGBOARDS, HOVERBOARDS, ROLLERBLADES, ROLLER-SKATES, MINI-BIKES, RIP-STICKS, ELECTRIC CARS AND MOTORIZED SCOOTERS IS PROHIBITED. 


PETS – 
We are a pet friendly campground with a limit of 2 pets per site. All pets must be kept on a 6 foot or shorter leash at all times, walked/supervised by a responsible person and you must pick up after your pet. We ask that you do not leave pets unattended outside and keep them from making excessive noise. Pets are not allowed in any campground building  Pool Area, Bathhouse or Playground. The rules must be followed, or your pet will be required to leave campground property. Pet owners are liable for injury or property damage caused by their pets. Management reserves the right to refuse to allow pets on campground property if they feel they are a danger to other campers. 

SAFETY, RULES, AND REGULATIONS

POOL – OPEN 9:00AM to DUSK NO LIFEGUARD ON DUTY! SWIMMING IS AT YOUR OWN RISK. NO DIVING OR RUNNING ON POOL DECK! Children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult when swimming and no one should swim alone. Please use swim diapers for infants and toddlers. No food or beverages in glass containers, no pets and no smoking allowed in the pool area. No cut off shorts. Pool rules must be observed at all times.

BATHHOUSE – Restrooms are cleaned daily. Please pick up after yourself when you exit the restrooms. Children under 10 years of age must be accompanied by an adult. NO BARE FEET ALLOWED. Toilet paper is the only flushable product. Please do not flush sanitary products, baby wipes, face wipes or anything other than toilet paper. The showers are coin-operated with directions posted in each bathhouse. We take pride in the cleanliness of our facilities. Please help keep the bath houses clean and report any issues to the office immediately.

LAUNDRY ROOM – Available for your convenience the laundry room is open 24 hours. Coin operated facilities are located in the rear of the Restroom Building on Beaver Pass. There is a change machine for your convenience. Please look after your wash so others are not kept waiting, set an alarm on your phone or watch to know when to return. NO sneakers, sleeping bags, large comforters, pet beds or rugs in the machines.  Please leave it neat and clean for the next person. In RV washer/dryers are NOT PERMITTED.

TRASH – All trash is to be placed in trash bags, tied and taken to the dumpster at the front of the campground. Please do not leave trash outside your camper/tent at night, it will likely attract unwanted nuisance animals. Burning trash is a violation of Maine State Law. PLEASE DO NOT BURN YOUR TRASH OR PUT IT IN THE CAMPFIRE RINGS! No large items, chairs, stoves, grills etc. are to be left at the dumpsters. Normal household garbage only.

SEWERAGE/DUMP STATION – The dump station is free to our campers staying at the campground. Only use RV toilet paper in your RV. No fluid discharge of any type is allowed to flow into or onto the ground. Please use sink inside the laundry room for washing dishes. Absolutely no sewage will be dumped in these sinks. Do not bathe in these sinks. 

ITEMS SOLD ON SITE – Bundled pine firewood, 5lb bags of cubed ice, and Coke product vending machine.

NOTICE TO GUESTS

PROPANE – If you need propane, you may take your tank to Tractor Supply Co. Take a left out of the campground and it is 5.3 miles on the right.

WI-FI – We offer 1 hour free basic Wi-Fi per device to try out the service. We also offer paid Wi-fi subscriptions based on length of stay that provides streaming capable speeds. We make no guarantees to its speed or quality. Please refer to Wi-Fi paperwork provided at check-in. 

INCLEMENT WEATHER – Camping is an outdoor experience. Therefore, we do not give refunds due to discomforts or acts of nature or otherwise (example: rain). 

LOST AND FOUND – Please see the Office for lost and found articles 

PHOTOGRAPHS AND VIDEOS – From time-to-time Yellowstone Park Campground may take photographs and/or videos of our campers and their visitors, including but not limited to our activities and/or special events, to be used in advertising for the campground. The signing of the Rules and Regulations grants permission to Yellowstone Park Campground to use any such photographs and/or videos for internal and external advertising purposes without payment or compensation. 

EJECTIONS – Campers or visitors found in violation of campground policies may be evicted without warning or refund. Any situations requiring ejections will allow a one hour time period to exit the premises. After this time, police escort will result in the event the site has not yet been vacated. You are responsible for the conduct, safety, and well being of your family and guests. 

MAINE INHERENT RISKS OF CAMPING 

WARNING – Under Maine law, a camper or a guest of the camper in a private campground assumes the risk of any injury to person or property resulting from any of the inherent dangers and risks of camping and may not recover damage or damages from any private campground owner or operator for any injury or death resulting from any of the inherent dangers and risks of camping. The inherent dangers and risks of camping include but are not limited to, changing weather conditions; surface or subsurface conditions, such as rocks, stumps, trees, forest growth or other natural objects; variations in terrain; and the failure of campers and their guests to recreate safely, in control and within their own abilities.

This property is privately owned. The Camper(s) and/or Guest(s) accept camping privileges with the understanding that he/she does hereby release the Campground, its owners and employees of ALL liability for loss or damage to property and injury to his/her use of its facilities, and agrees to indemnify the Campground, its owners and employees, against claims resulting from loss or damage to property or injury to the person of any member of the family or guest(s) of the registered camper arising out of use of its facilities. 

I have read and agree to comply with all of Yellowstone Park Campground rules and regulations as posted in office, website, reservations and/or on the grounds and review them with all guests that I have signed in.
